Marketing Coordinator
Full-Time / Victoria, BC

As the Marketing Coordinator, you are…creative and energetic. You are able to see the big picture while also paying attention to the details that make a campaign successful.  We have a great opportunity for a Marketing Coordinator, to work directly with our Marketing Leader, in elevating our brand through the development of comprehensive, high-quality campaigns and brand collateral. We are looking for someone who has the experience, skills, and initiative to enhance the quality and delivery of our marketing. You will collaborate with our Retail store network and our Sales team in the development and execution of exciting initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Develop comprehensive and impactful marketing campaigns/initiatives to achieve business goals
  • Coordinate and maintain marketing strategy and collateral development for our retail loyalty program
  • Create marketing content, sales tools, and collateral
  • Coordinate print production of all assets via internal resources or external vendors
  • Manage email marketing through strategy development, ideation, eBlast design, and reporting
  • Coordinate and communicate with Team members to execute marketing initiatives
  • Update and maintain corporate WordPress website and eCommerce platform
  • Develop company communications to deliver succinct messaging to broad audience, both internal and external
  • Liaise with vendors, sponsors, and partners
  • Execute brand standardization and compliance through our digital, print, social, and internal collateral
  • Assist other departments with graphic design projects which may include vehicle branding, retail signage, documentation branding, presentations, and more.
  • Create re-marketing and social media advertisements that inspire action
  • Develop landing pages for digital campaigns
  • Provide administration and coordination support as needed
  • Assist with public relations initiatives such as writing press releases and blogs

What you will bring:

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in marketing, communications, and graphic design
  • Proficient print production knowledge and graphic design skills using Adobe InDesign / Illustrator / Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher
  • Proven experience in developing email strategies and creating email campaigns in Constant Contact and/or MailChimp
  • Exceptional writing skills for internal and external audiences
  • Knowledge of branding fundamentals and best-practices
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new programs and tools such as our proprietary ERP system, eCommerce platform, SmartSheet, WordPress & WordPress plug-ins, HTML
  • Highly-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well in an ever changing environment

Payroll & Benefits Administrator & Accounting Assistant

We are looking for a Team Member with a proven track record in the areas of payroll and accounting with enthusiasm and passion to help build the business on all fronts.

An accurate, timely, and complete payroll is the first priority in this role. Payroll, on its own, does not constitute a full-time position at Monk Office and we are also looking for a hybrid person, who will assist in other areas of administration, accounting, and financial reporting support.

What you will do:

  • All aspects of company payroll – ensure electronic timesheets are complete, liaise with business leaders, team members, and external entities, payroll reporting, etc.
  • All aspects of benefits administration including enrolling eligible employees, making appropriate deductions from payroll for premiums, being an informational resource for staff, participating in benefits plan renewals with our provider
  • File, compile and distribute reports
  • Conduct accurate research and calculation into final pay requirements, create ROEs, track team member additions and departures to determine retention rates
  • Oversee the verification of our New Team Member kit which includes training and orientation materials for all new employees
  • Commission calculations
  • Managing Time off spreadsheets and tracking as required
  • Development and preparation of key HR reporting, such as team member turnover, sick tracking and scheduling of performance reviews
  • Administer MSP and benefit plan, enroll new team members on the BC Transit Pro Pass
  • Keep payroll manual up-to-date
  • Assist in identifying and implementing opportunities for efficiencies
  • Complete accounting functions such as monitoring cash deposits, summarizing sales, summarizing paid-outs, inventory reporting, processing journal entries, verifying bank transactions Calculate and reconcile WCB premiums
  • Prepare Journal Entries as required
  • GST and PST reporting and filing
  • Assist with other duties, projects and assignments as required

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or payroll
  • A secondary level education in payroll training
  • Excellent accounting / number and computer skills
  • An eye for detail, accuracy and deadlines: follow-up and follow-through are important
  • Professionalism and strong customer service, written and verbal communications skills

Design Technician
Victoria, BC

What you will do:

  • Design, draft and finalize furniture and DIRTT modular wall projects
  • As the Herman Miller dealer on Vancouver Island, specification of furniture and furniture finishes list/matrix in addition to other products and finishes, including proper application is a key aspect of the role
  • Prepare floor plans varying from demolition plans, new construction plans, partition plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical/data outlet plans, millwork/finish plans, presentation floor plans, construction elevations/details (as needed), all to be completed using Herman Miller Z-Axis or AutoCad program
  • Options development (sketching concepts, computer drafting, block planning, material and finish recommendations, etc)
  • Prepare colour/material boards and/or computer drawn perspective renderings as needed
  • Influence design best practices and offerings
  • Work with Sales team to develop drawings and quotes
  • Work with Operations to coordinate installation and application of finishes and/or furniture at jobsites to ensure smooth and successful project completion, includes pre-booked install date
  • External contacts with contractors and others in the design field
  • Embrace and practice the Monk Office ECO initiatives and programs
  • Identify opportunities to deliver services and work with sales team to succeed

What you will bring:

  • Accredited Technical certificate or diploma in Design/CAD/Architecture
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – ie. Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • DIRTT ICE software experience an asset
  • Z Axis and 2020 experience an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and segment work to increase productivity and deliverables
  • Exceptional skills in working with other staff in a team atmosphere
  • Comfort with the sales cycle and providing recommendations
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving
