FINANCE LEADER / ACCOUNTANT
Full-Time / Victoria, BC

The Finance Leader’s primary focus is to ensure accurate and efficient completion of all aspects of day-to-day accounting functionality that keep the business informed and moving forward. As the Finance Leader, this position provides information to make critical business decisions. Success in the role will be measured by timely financial reporting including business analytics and bringing forward opportunities for improvement. This role is pivotal to the success of the Finance department and as such is cross-trained and provides coverage and support for all team positions (Payroll, AP, AR & Assistant duties).

What you will do:

  • Prepare monthly financial results with analysis
  • General ledger
  • Accurate completion and delivery of financial information on a timely basis
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement, cost reduction and systems enhancement
  • Manage the accurate, reliable, and timely reporting for all reporting requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets
  • Communicate with Monk team on accounting processing requirements, financial inquiries, and internal control requirements
  • Preparation of year-end accounting
  • Preparation of required reporting to financial institutions
  • Participate in development of Business intelligence and Analytics
  • Work with and provide guidance to all Finance team members (Payroll, AP, AR, Accounting Assistant)
  • Prepare project, performance, sales, CRM, trend, business and other reports
  • Duties and projects as required by Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable or Sales
  • Embrace and practice the Monk Office ECO initiatives and programs
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures
  • Dress and conduct oneself in a professional and respectful manner
  • Attend and participate in company committees and meetings, including training programs, and product knowledge

What you bring to the team:

  • Accredited Accounting designation (CPA) or working towards
  • Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible accounting roles
  • Tech savvy with advanced Microsoft Excel skills (V-lookup, pivot tables, etc)
  • Team leadership and supervision experience an asset
  • High level of written and oral communication skills
  • Proven track record of attention to detail, forward thinking and success
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills

DESIGN COORDINATOR
Full-Time / Victoria, BC

What you will do..

  • Assist with design, design layouts, coordinate and administer furniture projects
  • Liaise with Sales Reps, Customers and Designers to create project proposals
  • Specify, check and enter furniture orders
  • Become a product knowledge expert on showroom offerings, greet customers and keep the showroom sparkling
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills both oral and written
  • Work in a dynamic environment of multiple and shifting priorities
  • Demonstrate ability to use initiative, work efficiently and independently under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines, while maintaining budget, composure and consideration for customers and colleagues
  • Creatively problem solve, initiate and manage processes in a time sensitive environment
  • Work in multiple programs and platforms – including AutoCAD, proprietary programs and Microsoft Office suite
  • The successful candidate will have design, engineering tech or project coordination experience. We are growing our team and looking for someone to work the full spectrum of furniture projects including coordinating Sales, Design and Operations.
