DESIGNER
Victoria, BC

We are looking for people with a track record of success, enthusiasm and the passion to help build the business on all fronts.

What you will do:

  • Design, document and implement furniture projects
  • End-to-end Interior Design services – including client and site visits
  • As the Herman Miller dealer on Vancouver Island, specification of furniture and furniture finishes list/matrix in addition to other products and finishes, including proper application is a key aspect of the role
  • Prepare floor plans varying from demolition plans, new construction plans, partition plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical/data outlet plans, millwork/finish plans, presentation floor plans, construction elevations/details (as needed), all to be completed using Herman Miller Z-Axis or AutoCad program
  • Options development (sketching concepts, computer drafting, block planning, material and finish recommendations, etc)
  • Prepare colour/material boards and/or computer drawn perspective renderings as needed
  • Showroom sales and coordination
  • Influence design best practices and offerings
  • Work with Sales team to develop drawings and quotes
  • Order entry and administration
  • Work with Operations to coordinate installation and application of finishes and/or furniture at jobsites to ensure smooth and successful project completion, includes pre-booked install date
  • External contacts with contractors and others in the design field
  • Embrace and practice the Monk Office ECO initiatives and programs
  • Identify opportunities to deliver services and work with sales team to succeed
  • Actively engage with Design community island wide as a representative of Monk Office
  • Position may be full-time or part-time depending on applicant and business needs

What you will bring:

  • Accredited CIDA program – Interior Design diploma or degree preferred
  • Member in good standing with IDIBC an asset
  • 3-5 years Interior Design experience including managing client relationships
  • 3-5 years commercial experience – furniture/interiors layout and design; construction industry
  • Construction industry knowledge
  • Intermediate working knowledge of AutoCAD skills
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – ie. Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • Z Axis and 2020 experience an asset
  • Ability to prioritize and segment work to increase productivity and deliverables
  • Exceptional skills in working in a team environment
  • Effective presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving

DESIGN TECHNICIAN
Victoria, BC

What you will do:

  • As the DIRTT dealer on Vancouver Island – you will design, draft and finalize DIRTT modular wall projects
  • Specification of DIRTT or furniture and furniture finishes list/matrix in addition to other products and finishes, including proper application
  • Prepare floor plans varying from demolition plans, new construction plans, partition plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical/data outlet plans, millwork/finish plans, presentation floor plans, construction elevations/details (as needed), completed in a CAD based environment
  • Options development (sketching concepts, computer drafting, block planning, material and finish recommendations, etc)
  • Computer drawn perspective renderings, and 3D fly throughs as needed
  • Work with Sales and Project team to develop drawings and quotes
  • Work with Operations to coordinate installation and application of finishes and/or furniture at jobsites to ensure smooth and successful project completion, includes pre-booked install date
  • External contacts with contractors and others in the design field
  • Embrace and practice the Monk Office ECO initiatives and programs
  • Identify opportunities to deliver services and work with sales team to succeed

What you will bring:

Administration Coordinator
Full-Time / Victoria, BC

  • Order and Data entry
  • Warranty and deficiency administration

What you will bring:

  • High school degree; experience working in an office is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc)
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Self-motivated
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Excel
